At the young age of 16 Amor presented the television programme Body beat and shortly afterwards Supersport.  After completing high school at Die Fakkel in Forest Hill, Johannesburg as head girl, she studied a BA-degree in Communication, specialising in Advertising at the Rand University.

But it is her experience and ability as an SA champion in tap and modern dance and her title as Miss Johannesburg that opened doors for her to star in productions like West Side Story at the State Theatre in Pretoria and Richard Loring’s Girl Talk.  She also appeared in Strictly Tap Dance Fever in the Joburg Theatre and later in Streets of Gold in the Lyric Theatre.  In 2012 Amor starred in a production of her own, named Amorisque, along with a dance group in the Odeon Showbar at Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park. The production ran for four months.

In 1998 Amor released her debut album Wild Cherry Kisses. The album was distributed by EMI and includes both English and Afrikaans songs, as well as “Ti amo” an Italian song that celebrates her half-Italian heritage.

She followed up with albums like Dance in Colours (2000), Young Forever (2002) and Amor (2004).

Her first Afrikaans CD, Voluit was released in 2006 and distributed by Select Music.

The album attained gold status (selling more than 20 000 copies) in only six months and was nominated for a South African Music Award (SAMA) in the Best Afrikaans Pop category. She was the only female artist to be nominated in this category for the award. The video “Voluit lewe”, the first song on Voluit, was awarded the Best Music Video at the 2007 Afrikaans Music Awards, held at Vodaworld in Midrand.

In the same year Amor was nominated for the People Magazine’s Crystal prize as the Hottest SA Artist. Furthermore she was also nominated for a Huisgenoot Tempo Award for the most popular Afrikaans female artist. “Voluit lewe” was also nominated the most popular song of 2007 and Amor was nominated for a Vonk Award for best female artist.

In 2009 Amor released the album Glo altyd aan more.  Another three hit albums followed this release: This Was Then: Amor Greatest Hits by EMI and Amor Vittone: Grootste treffers (2011) as well as Amor Vittone: 20 Goue treffers (2015) – both distributed by Select Music.

Amor’s CD, Die tyd is nou, was released in 2015 and distributed by David Gresham Records. “Sprei my vlerke”, the second song of the album, stormed to no. 1 position on Jacaranda FM’s Afrikaans Top 20 hits whilst “Te laat vir totsiens” later reached the no. 2 position on the same Top 20.

In 2018 she independently released her latest album Ek bly net'n ma with Amor Vittone Productions.  The first single from this album, As die wêreld stil gaan staan”, quickly made it’s way to several  hit parades and is already a hit.  This song held the no. 1 position on Bosveld Stereo’s Afrikaans Top 20-chart for three weeks.  “Voglio cantare” held the no. 1 position for two weeks and “Ek mis jou” also reached the no. 1 position on this Top 20.

In 1999 Amor was appointed as the presenter on Road 2 Riches, the Lotto programme, on television. Overnight she gained entrance to South African lounges across the country and with it her performances as a talented artist increased.

She became a familiar face in TV programmes like Legkaart Bonanza, Mainly for Men, Top Billing, In die kryt met Joost en Amor and Droomhuis. She had her own radio show on Jacaranda FM and she frequently graced the covers of magazines like Huisgenoot, You, Sarie, Insig, Vrouekeur, De Kat , Fair Lady and Marie Claire.

Apart from her role as singer and entertainer Amor is a choreographer and a regular master of ceremonies (MC) for public and private events. Her positive attitude, charm and elegance makes her a popular choice as motivational speaker.

Amor is also a gifted voice artist and has done voiceovers for numerous advertisements.

Amor was the presenter of “Skoonma-se-tong” and “Skoonpa-se-tong”, reality TV shows featuring mother-in-law’s cooking with their daughter-in-law’s and father-in-law’s cooking with their son-in-law’s on Via.  She’s also the main judge for Dans in jou taal on kykNet and she also plays the role of Zelda in 7de Laan.
